What this exam covers

This course prepares you for the Salesforce Certified Platform Integration Architect exam, designed for professionals who assess integration requirements and design secure, scalable solutions for integrating the Salesforce Platform with other enterprise and cloud applications. The course covers evaluating system landscapes, identifying integration patterns, and communicating design trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders, preparing candidates who typically work as Technical Architects, Integration Architects, Solution Architects, or Programmer Analysts.

The exam outline spans the following domains:

• Evaluate the Current System Landscape (8%) – standards, limitations, protocols, and authentication/authorization needs
• Evaluate Business Needs (11%) – functional/non-functional requirements, data classification, and regulatory factors
• Translate Needs to Integration Requirements (22%) – system inventories, process constraints, security requirements, and performance needs
• Design Integration Solutions (28%) – integration patterns, solution components, trade-offs, and appropriate Salesforce APIs
• Build Solution (23%) – API design considerations, outbound calls, scalability, error handling, security, and resilience
• Maintain Integration (8%) – performance monitoring, error escalation/recovery, and reporting

Recommended background includes 1–2 years of Salesforce Platform Integration Architecture experience, 2–3 years of hands-on Salesforce administration and/or development experience, and at least 1 year supporting or implementing data-centric enterprise integration solutions. Candidates are not expected to know non-Salesforce database technologies, middleware configuration, MDM tools, or programming languages, but should be comfortable identifying appropriate integration patterns, APIs, and security mechanisms for real-world business scenarios.
